The B&B is not only owner run but it is a lovely family business. It is located in a quiet and quaint North Essex village overlooking a community cricket ground. With excellent local amenities. The breakfast is beautifully prepared by hand and cooked to order with an exceptional range with economical benefits as most items including the table sauces are made and sourced from local farmers and businesses. Alicia (owner) was so pleasant giving us a tour of the cottage, ensuring at every moment that our stay was perfect. Not hard to see why this place has the rating it does.

Everything, amazing host, amazing house, amazing facilities,amazing breakfast - we can't wait to visit again. Alicia made us feel so welcome, we had the perfect night away to celebrate our anniversary. We popped to the plough pub for dinner then back to the jasmine room for a cosy movie night. Alicia went over and above to make our stay special and the breakfast was absolutely amazing. We cannot wait to return and may bring the children with us next time. Highly recommend and we had the best nights sleep in the comfy bed- everything was perfect 💗

The location was a beautiful surprise. just a few minutes walk from the station, on the stunning green, with a pub a minutes walk away serving great food in the evening, it was wonderful The host Alicia is so knowledgable about the house she has lovingly transformed to welcome guests, but she is also a great cook, the breakfast was enough to set us up for the rest of the day. We thought we were getting a room, but we got half a cottage! We would love to come back when we have more time.

We were greeted by a very warm welcome from Alicia who proceeded to show us around and point out some of the amazing features. The Jasmine Room is a wonderful place full of unique charm and character, (400+ years) . Jacuzzi bath was wonderful, the room also has wifi and Netflix. Breakfast in the morning was amazing, plentiful and made with locally sourced ingredients. We feel so lucky to have found The Jasmine Room and host Alicia, we will definitely be returning.

What a lovely little gem of a place! Alicia was so welcoming, we were made to feel at home right away. Lovely little touches that really made our stay brilliant. The building is old and has so much character. We loved everything about it. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, fruit, yoghurt, pastries and cooked options. Presentation was lovely too. Perfect location as it's just around the corner from the train station too.
